Where to go

Where to go in Egypt

Most itineraries stitch two or three places together: Luxor for the Valley of the Kings and Karnak, Aswan for Philae and the Nubian south, Cairo and Giza for the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, and Hurghada for the Red Sea. Each keeps its own monuments, its own light and its own pace.

Sail small

Dahabiya Nile cruises

A dahabiya is a wind-powered sailing boat with only a handful of cabins — the quiet alternative to a five-star Nile cruise ship. They moor at temples and villages the big boats sail past, and the river sets the timetable rather than a schedule.

Why us

Your Egypt travel agency in Luxor

We are a Luxor company, not a call centre abroad. That is the difference on the ground, and it is the whole reason the trips run the way they do.

Travel To Egypt is an Egyptian-owned agency based on Nazlet Al-Zanati Street in Luxor — not a reseller. The Egyptologist guides, the drivers and the Nile cruise boats are ours or long-standing partners we work with every week, which is why we can quote local pricing rather than an agency markup. The team answers in English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Read more about our agency, or see what past guests said across 1,025 guest reviews.

The Nile cruise season runs from October through April, when daytime temperatures in Luxor and Aswan sit in a comfortable range for temple visits. October, November, March and April are the busiest months, and cabins on the five-star ships are usually gone six to eight weeks ahead — Christmas and New Year sailings sell out earliest. Read our guide to the best time to visit Egypt before you fix your dates, then request a free quote and we will build the itinerary around them.

Based in Luxor

Licensed Egyptologists and drivers we have worked with for years — not an agency abroad subcontracting your trip.

Built around you

Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea, cruises and dahabiyas arranged to your dates, pace and interests.

No hidden fees

Clear inclusions and transparent quotes, with upgrades offered only where they genuinely change the trip.

Support on the ground

A timing change, a transfer update, a question at midnight — someone who knows your itinerary answers.

Intimate and peaceful

Our dahabiya was such an intimate way to sail the Nile. Perfect for anyone wanting a quieter Nile journey. Highly recommend a dahabiya.

A once-in-a-lifetime balloon flight

Floating over the green Nile valley and golden desert at dawn was unforgettable. Everything ran on schedule and the team made safety a clear priority. If you only do one thing in Luxor, make it this.

Seamless and memorable

Our Egypt package through the Red Sea in Hurghada and Cairo was superb. The itinerary balanced sightseeing and downtime well. A fantastic introduction to Egypt.
