The Merit II Dahabiya is a charming traditional sailing boat that brings the slow, romantic side of the Nile within easy reach. Cruising between Aswan and Luxor over four gentle days, this dahabiya Nile cruise carries only a small group of guests, so your journey stays intimate and relaxed throughout. On board the Merit II you moor at quiet islands, explore the Ptolemaic temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu, and glide through the Esna Lock under billowing sails. Comfortable cabins, freshly cooked Egyptian meals and a warm local crew make every day effortless, while an expert Egyptologist reveals the stories behind each temple. For a peaceful, authentic and well-priced Nile sail, the Merit II Dahabiya is hard to beat.

A magical dahabiya sail
The dahabiya experience was calm, elegant and special. The visits to Edfu and Kom Ombo, the quieter Nile temples and Silsila and the riverbank villages were real highlights. Highly recommend a dahabiya.
Special slow-travel experience
A peaceful, private sail away from the big cruise ships. Delicious food and beautiful sunsets from the deck. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
